For the first time in the Island Games history, Gotland won the Games with 37 Gold Medals, 27 Silver and 29 Bronze Medals. See the final Medal table. | |

The Football Final, Ynys Môn was the winner 1-0 against Isle of Man. In the evenening there was a lot of beer and singing. |
The County Governor of Gotland, Lillemor Arvidsson declare the Games closed and welcomes all to Isle of Man in 2001 and to come and see Gotland again. | |
